Maine Museums That Have Electric Vehicles


The Owl’s Head Transportation Museum

    Open year round, this award-winning museum in Owl’s Head, Maine (near Rockland on the midcoast) has in their collection an antique Woods Electric Brougham like the one shown above

The Seashore Electric Trolley Museum

    Founded in 1939 in Kennebunkport, Maine as a non-profit educational institutuion. This is the world's oldest and largest museum of mass transit vehicles, and the public can ride on several of these electric trolleys.

    This is a photo taken in January 1940 in Bangor, Maine of Bangor Hydro Electric Company’s Birney 58. It was orange and cream. The last electric trolly cars ran in Bangor on December 31, 1945.
