How to Get Here From Anywhere
From Coastal Route 1: Drive to Belfast and turn onto Route 3 toward Augusta. My home is in Belmont, five and one half miles from the (McDonald’s) intersection of Routes 1 and 3 in Belfast. As you approach your destination you will see the “Super Scoop” ice cream stand on the left. A couple hundred yards farther on you will see the sign shown below at the end of my driveway, which will be on your left side of the road. My mailbox number is 246.
From Route 131: Turn toward Belfast and you will immediately see a Maritimes Farm convenience store on your right. In about a half mile as you wind down a hill you will see the sign shown below at the end of my driveway, which will be on your right side of the road. My mailbox number is 246.
From Route 3 from Augusta: Drive toward the coast (Belfast) for about 40 miles from Augusta. You will go up a very long, steep hill and then see a Maritime Farms convenience store on your right. In another half mile you will see the sign shown below at the end of my driveway on your right side of the road. My mailbox number is 246.
Look for this sign at the end of my driveway in Belmont
I’m looking forward to meeting you all.

A ‘65 Ford Cobra Electric
Sent January 26, 2011
I wanted to give you an update on my Saturn EV. It has been sold! After about 8,000 miles, which is a lot of commuting at 35 mi/day, the lead-acid pack was starting to decline enough so that it was either time to do shorter trips with it or replace the pack. So rather than replacing the pack, I decided to replace the car with something newer. Brand new in this case.
So my second EV build is now under construction. It's a 2010 kit car from Factory Five Racing, a replica of a '65 Cobra. Normally a gasoline car, but of course mine will be 100% electric. I'm going all out on this build. It will be direct drive, no transmission, and built using a Netgain TransWarP 11HV motor, Netgain 360V 1400A controller, and a 288V pack of cylindrical lithium cells.
I have no idea when I will get it completed, only got started a few weeks ago. At the moment I'm designing/fabricating the motor mounts and starting to put together the car's suspension. This build should be an absolute blast and a great ride when it's done.
This build is already online at www.evalbum.com/3567

THIS ELECTRIC SNOWMOBILE IS FROM MARK BLACKIE OF SCARBOROUGH, MAINE
Here are a couple pictures of my electric conversion of my Dad's 1970 Skidoo Nordic 399. It's still in the Frankenstein's monster state of wiring and refinement. It's 36 volts, low speed, short range, and good for only about eight laps around the house without annoying any of the neighbors, but good fun for my three kids. I'll bump the voltage up whenever I can scrounge all the parts together. There’s still much to be done to reduce drag and extend range, if time ever allows. I've got a spare pallet jack motor and low voltage controller that I'll dig up the pictures on and take you up on the free ad. Right now they are just taking up space in my garage. - Mark -
Here’s a photo of me and my youngest daughter riding it.
